Book Party Planning
Book party planning can seem to be a bit troublesome. After all reading and partying would seem to not mix very well. A lot of people think that those that love to read are all stuffy and boring. This simply couldn't be further from the truth! The true nature of the book party is just like any other to celebrate the theme and have fun. Talking with friends, good food and drinks, lively surroundings, all celebrating a central hobby.
So, how does one organize and plan for a book party. The basics of a plan should be no stranger to a bibliophile, but they are worth focusing on. First you will need a location for the party. While a bookstore or library may seem like a good first idea, you will find they tend to have too many restrictions on what to do. Finding an empty house or apartment will work nice; otherwise you'll need to rent a building of some sort. Of course you'll be inviting your book loving friends over, and plan a convenient time for everyone.
Next of course are supplies, and themes. Your theme can be about books in general, a specific title, an author, or subject, or anything really. Now, get what decorations you will. Banners, streamers, posters, and such are nice. A more lively party might have confetti, and party favors such as funny glasses. The latter go great for a reading session that needs a more sophisticated look... If you will be having food and drinks make certain to have plates, napkins, cups, and utensils for all. And enough covers to protect any books nearby. |
