Columbus Day Party Planning
On October 12th 1492, Columbus discovered America. Columbus Day is special and is celebrated with great party planning and fervor. Hold a party on this day with reverence to the man. Create a Drama with children in the family and the neighborhood, about the voyage that Columbus took, showing the struggles they encountered in their sea voyage, and how the spirit of adventure led them to this continent. How it was a fluke discovery as they were on a mission to find a route to India hence calling the inhabitants of America Indians.
Your party planning can have adventurous games played, like in military training, to promote the children’s and adult’s search for challenges. Have everyone dress up in Spanish costumes of those times, as they come for the party. Several other games like `Whose balloon is bigger" can be played. In this everyone inflates balloons and whosoever has a burst balloon is out of the game. The one with the largest balloon is the winner. Integrate this game with your décor by letting everyone blow into several balloons and have enough for hanging all over and children can also play with them.
Then you can create many snacks like the sailboat snack with a stalk of celery and fruit rollups, a toothpick as the sail and peanut butter.
Another snack is a fruit salad with the season’s fruits, cheese, a can of condensed milk and whipped cream.
This day celebrates man’s eternal desire to know more and more whatever the driving forces behind it is, and so sporty events could also be included in your party.
