This place is teaming with history both directly related to the art of dance, the history of both dance and centuries old history. One of the first reasons to visit the place is the Royal Academy of Dance which is an international dance education and training organization that is world renowned. The place was established in 1920, by 1936 the school received it’s royal charter and became known as it is today. The Royal Academy of Dance is one of the largest dance organizations in the world, but beyond this is the city of London itself. London is the capital of England and the United Kingdom and has been around for a very long time. In fact the cities history goes all the way back to the Romans who founded the city. There is the old historic city proper which retains its mediaeval boundaries mostly is mostly where the city started. The modern surrounding area is the greater London metropolis and as such is governed by a Mayor. A city this old is just of the reasons why there is a dance academy here, one that isn’t as old, but still has been around for some time. After all dance has been around for centuries in various forums and called by many names, just not so defined or formal all the time. Here in London there are 43 univerities which is the largest concentration in Europe and don’t forget to visit Buckinghame Palace and Big Ben for the matter. In 2012 it will be time to get those party supplies ready as the city will play host for the third time to the Summer Olympic Games, a first for any city to host one of these events.
