During the month of November what is billed as the world’s largest disco can be found happening in Buffalo. The event attracts people from around the region and beyond, it has seen a number of guest appearances of famous stars from the disco era along musicians playing live music from the time. The annual event occurs on the Saturday after Thanksgiving at the Buffalo Convention Center. This event requires lots of party supplies to make it come together each year and then there is the music. First a little history to set the stage, the event current started in 1994, however history can be traced back to 1979 in Buffalo when another disco celebration was held. According to the Guinness World Records this disco event is the world’s largest recorded event with 13000 people in attendance. Now days because of the limitations of the site used to host the ongoing event only about 7,000 people are able to attend now days. Previous years tickets have sold out shortly after going on sale to the public. Besides the fact this is a disco event one that someone who loves disco should attend it is also a charity fundraiser that supports a summer camp for children with cancer, known as Camp Good Days and Special Times. Offering those in attendance the chance to not only relive the 70’s but also to help a worthy cause through the donations raised for charity. Attendees typicall dress up in 70’s attire before showing up and some of the celebrities that have attended the event include; Henry Winkler, Cindy Morgan, Erik Estrada and several of the kids from the Brady Bunch.
