Earth Day Party Planning
Earth Day is a very special day for the planet. You could celebrate it in several party planning ways. Take a theme like ~ Go green` and everyone can come dressed as the grass or a tree or wear an all-green costume.
It will be good to do some party planning well in advance with some great intelligent ideas. There can be talks on Global warming and Organic farming and on various environmental hazards the earth is going through. This can be done through a game known as ~ Just a minute` where these topics can be chosen from a draw inside a bowl with slips of paper with the topics written. A person has to speak for a minute without stopping and if you stop before you lose a point.
The place can be adorned with lots of plants and you can hang creepers made of paper or plastic from the ceiling and put flowers everywhere. The children can be asked to write small letters to the earth and the best letter can be awarded. You could serve organically grown fruits and vegetables. The tables should be covered with green cloth and you could hang a few globes from the ceiling.
The favors can be green bands for your wrist or a bottle of pickle made from organically grown vegetables. Arrange games played with the children carrying placards of various continents and oceans and they can come up and talk about the endangered species in that continent.
Have peace messages and anti-racist messages on the walls for all to read. The food should be simple and wholesome. |
