Fifties parties are great celebratory events to get down to with homemade party decorations and supplies such as centerpieces, cut outs, banners, party favors, games, food, for the hip cats and dollies in attendance.
Fifties banners properly greeting the party guests to the swingin’ event is necessary. Silhouettes and clip art images can be printed out on card stock paper and used as fifties banners. Use fifties colors such as pink, aqua blue, black, and white with fifties prints and patterns as backgrounds for the silhouettes. Tie and secure the silhouettes together on card stock by punching the holes in the side. Popular fifties mages and objects include poodles, jukeboxes, pin up models, records, sundaes, Cadillac cars, guitars, and musical notes.
Fifties homemade banners can be made by cutting images from poster board of pink, black, white, or aqua blue colors. For example, cut out a large record from black and poster board with a smaller colored center circle inside. Cut the colored center circle from a separate piece of poster board (cutting the middle out of the record is optional. Once the record background is complete cut out text letters and paste them on the record. Use 50s text and colors with a greeting such as Swingin’ 50s, Fab 50s Shindig, 50s Party Bash etc. Once the letters are cut glue or tape to the record background and tape to the wall. Have fun and spend a significant amount of time preparing and completing the fifties party decorations.
