Homemade Hippies party decorations such as banners, posters, and plenty of hippy grub will bring former and current hippies out of the woodworks. Homemade decorations are an essential part of any theme party. Why purchase party supplies when most can be made with a minimal amount of arts & crafts skill (some skill required). For a hippy theme party make party decorations reflective of the hippie era such as smiley faces, love buses (Volkswagen buses), peace signs, and psychedelic colors to trip people out. Print the banner symbols from clip art images on card stock paper. Once the images are printed then punch holes, with a hole puncher, on the corners or sides of the images and string together using string, ribbon, or hemp (whatever is available). What about hippies that do have access to a far out printer thing. Another option is to cut out the symbols by hand from colored card stock paper. Once cut, use the hole punch and string together.
Homemade hippies party decorations can also be made by young children as well. While children today were not born in the sixties and seventies does not mean they cannot conjure up the hippy spirit within them. Have the celebrant make his own, with help from his hippy parents, the handmade party decorations. Print out hippy images and have the celebrant color them in with all the colors of the rainbow. When done, string the card stock images together and a young hippy banner is made.
