Kids Party Planning
Kids party planning can lead you down the road of too much candy and sweets if you aren't careful. Then again, if they aren't your kids, you may feel a little indulgence is okay from time to time. Let the parents deal with the little ones bouncing off the walls from too much candy after the party. Maybe not...but a kids party is meant to be fun so a few games, good food, prizes and treats are to be expected.
Games and entertainment are the way to keep kids happy at their parties. Consider looking up a few good party games for your event before hand. Games such as, hide and seek, J'accuse, and relay races will help keep kids occupied and give them a way to vent excess energy. These days computers and games have become a big part of the entertainment business too. If you have enough controllers for guests, consider letting the kids play on the Wii or other game consoles for a little while. A movie or few episodes of their favorite television shows makes a good way to pass time too. Whatever you choose for games and entertainment at this kids party, look for inspiration in the theme of the party. For instance, a dinosaur theme can lend itself to a fun archeology dig in the back yard or the sand box. Instead of dinosaur bones the kids can look for plastic eggs filled with treats or coins.
Party planning should always include food preparation. Kids do tend to eat different foods from what adults prefer. You like grilled chicken salad, they enjoy chicken fingers and French fries. Consider the simpler foods for a kids party. Chicken strips, French fries, pepperoni pizza, mac and cheese and of course, ice cream and cake. Just remember kids tend to dislike green veggies, gravy, cream sauce, anything they consider slimy or cold that's not sweet at any rate and sometimes sour or bitter foods like pickles and onions.
