Include various homemade medieval banners and other party decorations at the medieval party celebration. A medieval theme party is a great way to spend a celebration because it takes party guests back to a time of nobility and honor. Children can also learn through theme parties about historical medieval figures such as knights, queens, kings, princes, and princesses as well.
For handmade decorations, consider making simple yet festive medieval banners with various arts & crafts materials. Children can easily make their own medieval banners by designing their own coat or arms or colors. Use card stock paper to design medieval banners by cutting out the shape of their flag and then apply additional layers of colored card stock to the top of the background. Felt is also a good source for creating a medieval banner using the same steps. Use large pieces of card stock paper and felt when creating the medieval banners. Once the banners are made, string them together us a hole punch (punch the holes in the under corners of the banners on each side), and tie together use string or ribbon.
Medieval clip art is another option when it comes to making handmade medieval banners. Knights and horseback, castles, crowns, crosses, and other medieval symbols are options for medieval clip art banners. Print the clip art, either in black and white or in color, and hang with string or ribbon. Leaving the clip art images will give the child or children an opportunity to show their creative side by coloring the images in contributing the homemade party decorations.
