Memorial Day Party Planning
Memorial Day must be celebrated with great respect for brave soldiers and by keeping party planning simple.
Begin with a speech on the various wars fought by the Americans and a look at the pros and cons of these could be held.
Your party planning can include the costumes which could be soldier like dresses for all. The invites should be simple and civil with a picture of the American flag on the cover.
For party planning, food and decor is the most important part. The food can be wholesome and not too garish and so the décor. The American flag should be hoisted and then there can be the singing of the national anthem and patriotic songs sung by the guests.
The favors should be flowers or small replicas of the National flag. The children can be told about the Civil war and then there will be a recap and the children can voice their opinions on war and the need for Global peace.
Arrange for a marching drill and also some adventurous games be played requiring skill and dexterity, akin to the military training. This would give everyone an idea of how soldiers come up, and how they are trained. The need for violence and tolerance can also be discussed in a simple and persuasive manner. Have a minute’s silence to pay homage before beginning the day.
We salute those brave soldiers.
