Pajama Party Planning
The infamous pajama party, well not really infamous... At any rate pajama party planning is rarely gone into in any real depth in all the references you see in the media. So you decided to do something fun, only to find out you really don't know where to start. Worse, you may even be under the impression that you have only to invite your guests and things will take care of themselves! Ah, if only. No matter, it's not the end of the world; these parties really are fairly simple to plan for.
Now, let's review what we know: several kids are coming over to spend the night, usually in pajamas. This means you will need to plan for dinner, snacks, and breakfast for all your guests. This will include of course enough dishes and utensils to go around. I recommend buying some plastic plates, cups, utensils, and napkins for the event. You will need to think about bathroom time management, and be certain that there are enough bathroom supplies. Remember to know who all is there at all times lest one of them disappear, or an extra show up out of nowhere.
There are many activities for a pajama party. Such as movies, games, truth or dare, etc. However the mainstay of a pajama party is talking just with friends without supervision. The kids will be deciding this part on their own.
Should you choose to have decorations you'll need to decide if you want to leave them up the whole time, or just at the beginning. Banners, streamers, confetti, and so on are all fun and can be themed for the specific party, but they'll also tend to get in the way if you leave them up too long. |
