Show some red, white, and blue patriotism spirit with homemade party decorations such as banners, centerpieces, and party favors for the next US holiday. There are many patriotic banners one can make with minimal arts & crafts supplies and experience. Printing images such as stars, United States Flag, and red, white, and blue patterns on card stock is one of the simplest banners to make. Clip art images of stars and other patriotic imagery can be cut from card stock paper, strung together using ribbon or string, and hung in the party location. Use multiple layers of card stock in red, white and blue colors to make star banners that will delight party guests. On the same stars, use additional text clip art images for text to welcome guests to the patriotic party. Apply the text on the top of the stars by gluing them on.
Patriotic bandanas also make simple, yet patriotic handmade banners for a US holiday celebration. Gather a few dozen or so bandanas with patriotic colors and imagery on them and hang on a piece of string or rope. Fold the bandanas over the piece of rope or string and hang around the party area. Cut up the bandana into four squares and fold each square into a triangle and iron to get the creases.
For those who have small children let them get in on the patriotic homemade banner making fun as well. Use paper plates and have the children draw patriotic symbols of the United States such as the American Bald Eagle, The Liberty Bell, the Statue of Liberty, United State etc. Once they are done, punch holes in the sides of the paper plates and tie together using a piece of string or ribbon and hang.
