Show your birthday spirit by hosting a cheerleading pom-pom party. Invite a local school cheerleader or two to give your guests a demonstration on how to use their pom-poms and do cheers.
You can use card stock and gel pens for your pom pom party invitations. Draw pom-pom shapes and then write on the front of the card: Give me a P!, give me an A!, give me an R!, give me a T!, give me a Y!. What’s that spell? On the inside of the card write, POM POM PARTY and it’s for:___________! Show your birthday spirit and join us……..[then give party details]. Remind your guests to dress in cheerleading outfits or any comfortable outfit.
Provide the supplies to make megaphones out of card stock. Draw the outline of a megaphone on the card stock and cut it out. Have the girls decorate the outside of the megaphone using markers and glitter with pom-poms, their team mascot and their names. Use double sided tape to put it together in to a megaphone shape.
Pass out the pom-poms to the guests. Have the volunteers show the girls how to use their pom-poms, and megaphones, and how to do a few easy cheers. Have them make up cheers and then do them all together to music.
Decorate your table with cut outs of pom-poms and megaphones that the girls can take home with them. Offer snacks that you would find at a ballgame by serving pizza, nachos, popcorn and coca-cola. Serve pom-pom and megaphone snack mix using bugles and cheese balls.
