A handmade prom banner will usually be used to advertise and celebrate an established prom party at school. So the banner should be massive, and a needed addition to your party supplies, in order to really make a statement and stand out on the front steps of the building.
Prom night is a very special night in the life of a high school senior, so the homemade prom party banner must be special, as well. Tassles, stars, glitter, and anything else to make the banner dazzle is recommended. Start with gold colored lettering. The letters can be cut out of gold paper, gift wrap, or gold ribbons. If you don’t want to attach them with hot glue or staples, you might try gluing gold glitter onto letters that have been made in glue. This needs to be done rather quickly, so that the glue doesn’t dry before the glitter is applied.
Tassles for your homemade prom party banner might be used from taking apart a cheerleader’s pompoms. They are usually the colors that represent the school teams, and they would add a nice touch to the banner. Add them to the ends for effect, or all along the bottom. They will sway in the breeze as the prom guests enter, adding excitement to the anticipation of the evening. Or you can hang the banner on the front door. And don’t forget the stars. There are stars that can be stuck to a child’s ceiling for a starry night effect. These can be placed on your handmade party banner. Anything that glitters, glows in the dark, and even holograms make great finishing touches to your homemade banner. |
