Young sports enthusiasts will love their sports themed party filled with plenty of party decorations such as party banners, centerpieces, scene setters, and party favors. Homemade party decorations not only are fun to make but may help save in party cost as well. Kick off the sports theme party by creating a wonderful sports theme banner to welcome guests and/or wish the celebrant a happy birthday or other best wishes. A homemade banner can include all of the celebrant’s favorite sports such as basketball, baseball, football, and hockey. Use card stock and print out various images and sports items like basketballs, footballs etc. once the images are printed out on the card stock, cut off the excess paper. In the center of the basketball or football cutouts, place lettering on top of the sports balls by printing out the lettering, cutting off the excess paper, and gluing or taping the lettering on. when the decorative elements are on the banner pieces, punch holes in the top or the sides of the pieces and string together using string or ribbon (shoe laces are a nice touch as well).
Homemade sports banners can also include some or all of the celebrant’s favorite athletes and team logos in the banner also. Print out the favorite athletes and team logos on card stock and decorate each card stock paper with creative borders that correspond with the team colors. For example, if the team wears blue and white create a border around the card stock by applying blue and white borders using construction paper to the back of the card stock paper.
