Sweet 16 is one of the many milestone birthdays in a person’s life so celebrate in grand fashion with homemade party decorations such as banners, centerpieces, and party favors. Since there are many ways to make a banner decide what is best for the party venue. If the party venue is in a large area then a large banner is more appropriate. Sweet 16 parties in a home (backyard, basement etc.) opt for smaller, but decorative handmade party banners. Once the size of the banner is determine the decorating can begin.
For a Sweet 16 handmade banner use girl-ish colors, unless the celebrant prefers otherwise. Use bright and bold colors such as pinks, purple, blues, yellows, and oranges for a stylish banner surely to garner attention as the focal party decoration. Use card stock with clip art images and text printed on them. Print the card stock images and text and cut out the text and hang using string, cord, or ribbon. Use a hole punch to punch holes of the upper corners in each of the letters. Glitter, ribbon, and lace are wonderful decorative accents to make the banner really stand out and give it some texture rather than just being a flat surface. Craft paper is an excellent choice for homemade banners because of the numerous patterns and styles available. Cut out squares, ovals, or circles from solid color card stock and place the craft paper on top of the card stock with glue or tape once the craft paper lettering is cut for a simple Sweet 16 homemade banner. String together and hang in the desired area.
