Texas Holdem Travel Ideas
Card games have been around since sometime after the invention of cards themselves and if you love Texas Holdem then this is a place to visit Robstown, Texas. The place received recognition when the Texas state legislature officially noted that Texas Holdem’s birthplace was in the town of Robstown back in the early 1900s. Yet the history of the game is still lost to the past as how it began and who may have created the game. Even with the acknowledgement from the state about Robstown being the likely birthplace of the game, there is still the unknown. The town was founded back around the early 1900’s outside of Corpus Christi. In doing a little more research the city was founded in 1906 and named for the landowner of the time Robert Driscoll Jr. The history of the city dating back to the 1900’s when the game was played has been lost to the past. The last census from 2000 placed the population of the city just over 13,000 people. The city is broken up into several distinct neighborhoods, like many other cities that were founded in the early 1900’s. The most notable ones are Bluebonnet which is located in the northwest area of the town. Then there is the Casa Blanca which is south of Ave A and runs across the tracks to near St. Anthony’s Church. The third section of the town is known as Chinatown and is home to a government housing project, located in the southwest part of the city. Finally the last one is San Pedro which is the west-side of town and located right next to the San Pedro Elementary school. Having party supplies on hand in the city to recreate the old west in recognition of the founding of the game Texas Holdem that has grown to be popular thanks to it be exported out Las Vegas in the last 1960’s early 1970’s when a group of Texas gamblers arrived in town and brought it with them.
